Adam Idah rescues Celtic as super sub strikes double as champions repeat Lanarkshire late show - 3 talking points

Super sub Adam Idah netted a second half double with Luis Palma also on target at the death as Celtic came from behind to beat Motherwell at Fir Park in a dramatic victory that moved the champions two points behind Rangers.

Celtic were under pressure to get the win after going into the game five points behind Rangers but they were sloppy in the first half with Blair Spittal netting a stunner. Idah replaced Kyogo at the break and turned the game around with a double in the second half. It was the home side who had the ball in the net after just a couple of minutes through Theo Bair - but the celebrations were cut short with VAR showing the Canadian was offside as he latched onto a defence-splitting pass. It was still a warning how easily the Hoops high line was exploited.

The visitors - who also won their last trip to Fir Park with a last-gasp goal - looked edgy in a first half where they dominated possession. But just couldn’t find any real rhythm or create any clear cut chances which has been an all too familiar sight for disgruntled supporters. They would have been even if angrier if Georgie Gent had stuck away a good chance after a brilliantly worked move but the on-loan Blackburn Rovers man fired over.

Callum McGregor threaded a ball through for Kyogo in the best first half chance for the visitors but Liam Kelly was quickly off his line and out to deny the Japan star. Then a couple of minutes before half time the champions were stunned as the Steelmen grabbed a deserved lead.
