Acun Ilicali reveals Hull City intentions that should please Tigers supporters

Hull City have shown some promising signs since Acun Ilicali successfully took over the club earlier this year.

The jury is still out on Shota Arveladze’s credentials in the dugout, but at board level Ilicali’s intentions appear to be noble and he is committed to strengthening the Tigers’ squad in the summer.

The Tigers pulled off an excellent 1-0 win at play-off chasing Middlesbrough last time out, thanks to a long range strike from prized asset Keane Lewis-Potter.

Ilicali explained his motivation in his role at Hull when he spoke to The Athletic.

He said: “I am optimistic we will make a team we are all dreaming of.

“Fans were waiting for new times and I have come here to make Hull people happy.

“It is a big responsibility on my shoulders.

“I am not here just for business.

“I already have my business.

“I am not trying to make money because I already have money.

“All I want is success and I am playing the game.

“But I believe I am one of the most involved club owners in the country.

“My motivation is success.

“And the more motivated you are, the more success you have.

“It is like a chain reaction.”

It is not so long ago that the Tigers were mixing it with the best in the Premier League under Steve Bruce, and many supporters will believe that Ilicali will pave the way for their return.
