AC Milan 'in advanced talks' with Ilkay Gundogan over transfer and more Man City transfer rumours

AC Milan are reportedly in advanced talks with Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan over a summer move.

The City captain is poised to become a free agent as things stand when his deal at the Etihad Stadium expires this summer. The 32-year-old joined City in 2016 from Borussia Dortmund.

In that time, the German international has played more than 300 times for Pep Guardiola's side and scored 58 goals. He has five Premier League winners medals, as well as four League Cups and the FA Cup to his name.

Speculation surrounds Gundogan's future at City with his deal at the club poised to run out at the end of this month. He has been strongly linked with a switch to La Liga champions Barcelona.

However, the Spanish side appear to not be the only suitors for the experienced midfielder. Reports from Italy now suggest that a side from the north of the country are making good progress on securing Gundogan's services.

Via Footbll Italia, Il Corriere dello Sport reports that AC Milan are in 'advanced talks' with Gundogan over a move to the San Siro this summer. The Rossoneri are said to be ‘confident’ about sealing Gundogan's future, but the player himself will hold off on a decision over his future until the Champions League final against Inter Milan is out of the way.

Elsewhere, Chelsea could demand a fee of £35m for Mateo Kovacic this summer, according to 90min. City are reportedly interested in the Croatia international and he could be a Gundogan replacement for Pep Guardiola's side.
