AC Milan close to agreeing contract with Liverpool's Divock Origi
AC Milan are close to an agreement over a contract for Liverpool striker Divock Origi.
The 26-year-old is a free agent at the end of the season and has been able to talk to foreign clubs since January, with Milan leading negotiations.
Liverpool have an option to extend the Belgian’s contract if he reaches a set amount of starts but that is unlikely as he has made just five substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
Origi has been at Anfield since 2014 but has never been able to nail down a starting spot and instead been mostly used off the bench.
Nonetheless, he has scored memorable goals for the Reds, including in the semi-final and final of the Champions League in 2018-19 and a 96th-minute winner against Everton the same campaign.
He missed around two months earlier this season with a knee injury, but when he has been available he has faced competition from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and now Luis Diaz too.
