Abierto Akron Zapopan: Date, draw, Emma Raducanu’s next match and everything to know

The WTA Tour arrives in Mexico this week. Stars such as Emma Raducanu, Madison Keys and defending champion Sara Sorribes Tormo have travelled to Guadalajara for the Abierto Akron Zapopan.

It is just the third edition of the tournament, and the second as a WTA 250 event. In total, 28 players will play for a maximum of 280 points and a prize pot of $239,477 (£176,161).

With competition set to get underway this week, GiveMeSport Women runs through everything you need to know about Abierto Akron Zapopan.

The Abierto Akron Zapopan starts tomorrow (February 21st) and will run for seven days, until February 27th.

Match times are yet to be released, but with Guadalajara six hours behind the UK, action will likely take place here in the afternoon and evening.

The Abierto Akron Zapopan takes place on outdoor hardcourts at the Panamerican Tennis Center located in Guadalajara, a city in Mexico.

The venue was used to host last year’s WTA Finals, a prestigious season-ending event.

Emma Raducanu, the reigning US Open champion, is the tournament’s top seed. Australian Open semi-finalist Madison Keys is the second seed, while defending champion Sara Sorribes Tormo is the third seed.

Camila Osorio, Nuria Parrizas Diaz, Sloane Stephens, Misaki Doi and Qinwen Zheng are the remaining seeded players.

Welcome Emma!
