Aberdeen vs St Johnstone OFF as Storm Malik wreaks havoc on Scottish football fixture list

Aberdeen’s home clash with St Johnstone has fallen victim to Storm Malik.

The severe winds have battered the UK, wreaking havoc up and down Scotland.

And the north east has been badly affected which has resulted in the Pittodrie clash being called off.

Gusts of up to 80mph caused travel chaos with nearly 200 trains cancelled by Network Rail.

Those included Dundee-Aberdeen services which impacted Saints fans planning on making the trip north.

And North East police tweeted: "The Aberdeen v St Johnstone FC football fixture due to take place today has been cancelled. Motorists are advised to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary and please exercise caution."

Callum Davidson was looking to build on the point they picked up against Dundee after the Scottish Premiership bottom dogs stopped the rot following 10 defeats on the spin.

Championship leaders Arbroath's home clash with Partick Thistle was earlier also called off due to the adverse weather and the SPFL are braced for more to follow.
