Aberdeen see Rangers ticket demand spark Hotline disbelief as one punter has solution Pittodrie chiefs might not like
Aberdeen's call for a 50/50 allocation of the tickets for next month's Viaplay Cup final against Rangers provoked the usual split on the Hotline, although most were in favour of the Ibrox side receiving the lion's share.
Not John Scott, Grassmoor, though, who said: "Here we go again with one of the Old Firm whinging about ticket allocations. For the umpteenth time, the final is played at a neutral venue for a reason. Rangers fans will fill half the North and South stands and totally fill the Rangers End. Aberdeen will fill half the North and South and the entire Celtic end. That equality ensures no advantage to either team. The irony that our national stadium has two ends named after our two biggest clubs will be lost on those demanding a bigger allocation."
But Steve McGregor emailed from Australia: "So, the Dandy Dons want half of Hampden for the League Cup final. They can't even fill Pittodrie for a home game against the Old Firm. Where will these fairweather supporters come from? Teams based in wee toons couldn't fill a kebab shop on a Friday night."
John Davidson, Kirkintilloch, said: " I can't believe Aberdeen are looking for a 50/50 split of tickets for Hampden on 17 December, when between themselves and Hibs, they could only half fill Hampden. On that basis, I think a 70/30 split in Rangers favour would suffice."
Andrew Russell added: "Give Aberdeen 50 per cent of tickets for the final and charge them for what they don't sell. See what they think of that."
