Abbey Vale's Scottish Cup debut is "massive weekend" for New Abbey club

Abbey Vale will make their Scottish Cup bow in a “massive weekend” for the club on Saturday.

The South of Scotland League champs will welcome Cupar Hearts, who are also making their cup debut, to Maryfield Park with a 3pm kick off.

Chairman Andy Brolls said: “It’s a massive weekend for the club and it’s a reward for all of the club’s hard work, not just last year, but for the last four or five years. The club has been built up, it’s been competing and getting better and won trophies in the South.

“It’ll be a hard test but hopefully we’ll have a big crowd on Saturday and people will come out and support us.”

Abbey Vale suffered defeat in the South League on Saturday when they lost 3-2 away to Creetown. For more on that match and their midweek win over Mids see the inside sports pages.

Vale manager Allan Clark said: “This weekend is huge for the club as a whole but it’s massive for the players.

“It’s a big day and a big task and a
