Aaron Ramsey to Rangers permanent transfer clue as Juventus statement offers sign of things to come

Rangers have completed one of the most sensational signings in recent Scottish football memory as Aaron Ramsey has officially joined until the end of the season.

When reports first emerged that the Juventus man was wanted by the Premiership champions the automatic reaction of many was to dismiss them out of hand.

Instead Rangers fans watched on in delight and astonishment as the midfielder passed a medical, turned up to Ibrox and, finally, stood in the famous dressing room in a blue shirt.

Supporters will be on a high well into the week after a sensational move, but what do we know about the long-term prospects for Ramsey at Ibrox?

Initial reports suggested that the former Arsenal man would join with an option to buy, potentially one which would become an obligation if certain conditions are met.

However, the statement released by Juve indicates that a straight loan deal has been agreed between the two clubs.

Because the Turin club are listed on the Italian stock exchange, they must announce the details of transfers which could affect their share price.

We saw three examples of that on deadline day.

When Rodrigo Bentancur joined Tottenham, Juve released a statement making clear he'd moved £15.9m, plus a potential £5m in bonuses, and that the deal had earned them a £3.3m profit.

They signed Denis Zakaria to replace him and made public the £3.8m fee they'd paid as well as the fact it will be paid over three years.
