Aaron Ramsey's Rangers flop spell puzzles Alan Brazil as Celtic diehard 'couldn't work out' Ibrox stance

Radio host Alan Brazil has rinsed Rangers for not playing Aaron Ramsey during his ill-fated loan spell at Ibrox as he pitched a move to the Premier League for the Welshman.

The 31-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Ibrox and was initially seen as a major transfer coup for Gio van Bronckhorst, but couldn't get going during his loan move from Juventus with niggling injuries derailing his Scottish Premiership stint. His last act as a Rangers player was his costly missed penalty in the Europa League Final before returning to Turin to negotiate his release from his bumper contract in Turin.

Ramsey has finally had his contract ripped up by the Serie A giants and faces a tough call over is future as he looks to build up his fitness ahead of Wales' World Cup campaign in Qatar. Brazil and fellow talkSPORT Breakfast Show host Ray Parlour reckon the playmaker could still make his mark on the English Premier League, with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle named as potential destinations.

Speaking after his exit from Serie A, Brazil was quick to defend Ramsey on air. He opened his conversation with Arsenal legend Ray Parlour stating: "You know I think he still has a lot to give."

Parlour backed the stance, stating: "He is a top player. A really good player who was really good at Arsenal. I was really sad to see him leave Arsenal if I'm honest, but obviously he went for the big move to Juve. He got the money and great wages. But where does he go now?"

They then move on to the disastrous spell north of the border. Parlour added: "He had that spell at Rangers, but he wasn't playing on a regular basis was he?"

Celtic diehard Brazil admits he was left bemused by the lack of game time, with Ramsey making just 10
