Aaron Ramsey: Rangers man was gutted after penalty miss in Europa League final
Rangers were beaten by Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final on Wednesday evening.
The Scottish giants looked as if they would end their 50-year wait for a European title when Joe Aribo’s 57th minute goal gave them the advantage.
However, they couldn’t hold on as Rafael Santos Borré restored parity with 20 minutes remaining.
The game went all the way penalties and it was the German side that emerged victorious.
Aaron Ramsey was subbed on in the 117th minute with the intention of taking a penalty.
But it didn’t go according to plan for the Welshman as he was the only player to miss a penalty in the shootout.
Ramsey took Rangers’ third spot-kick and his effort was poor. He tried to smash his effort down the middle but it was saved by Kevin Trapp.
