Aaron Ramsey on transfer brink as Rangers 'target' caught up in airport picture frenzy

We're barely past the half way mark on Deadline Day and already the rumour mill has hit overdrive.

Rangers were always likely to do some late business but the name Aaron Ramsey certainly wasn't among anyone's expectations – until now.

A flood of reports from Italy on Monday morning indicated the Premiership champions had mounted an audacious loan bid for the Juventus midfielder.

On a staggering £400,000-a-week in Serie A, the initial claims were met with scepticism but the story has snowballed over the past few hours and it appears the 31-year-old will make a move to Ibrox.

Record Sport believes the player and his representatives are in Glasgow now to tie up the biggest transfer of the window. So far, at least.

The Athletic reported earlier that Ramsey was stationed at a private UK airport terminal to make a decision on his next move.

So it's no surprise that speculation hit fever pitch when pictures and video footage purporting to show Ramsey on the move flashed across social media.
