Aaron Donald: Unreal throwback footage shows LA Rams star dominating in college

Footage has emerged on social media showing that Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has always been a dominant force on the defensive line. 

With 441 combined tackles, 226 QB hits, 150 tackles for loss and 98 sacks which turned into 8 Pro Bowl appearances, 7 First-team All-Pro honours and 3 NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards, you could make the argument that Aaron Donald is the greatest defensive player that the league has ever seen going alongside the likes of Lawrence Taylor and Deion Sanders.

And having this past year finally managed to grab that long-awaited Super Bowl ring with the Los Angeles Rams he put the icing on the cake of what is undoubtedly going to be a Hall of Fame career, although that career still has some way to go following the monster new deal that he signed this past offseason.

But as with all great careers, they have to start somewhere, and for Donald it was at the University of Pittsburgh.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Donald attended Penn Hills high school, although didn’t do enough there to attract attention from some of the big-name programmes, instead staying local and playing his college football with the Pittsburgh Panthers.

He started as a backup in his first season, but when he became a starter in his second he was well and truly on the path to the force that he is today, as he racked up a total of 47 tackles, 16 of which were for loss whilst also recording 11 sacks. 

In total, he had 179 tackles, 66 for loss, 29.5 sacks and 6 forced fumbles, which made it a very easy chocie for the Rams to take him with the #13 pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.
