Swansea City are in the running to sign Watford midfielder Domingos Quina, according to Football Insider.

The South Wales side have opened talks with the Hornets to take the 22-year-old on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign, with the Portuguese player currently at Fulham.

Quina has been frozen out at Craven Cottage since October though and Watford look set to recall him to send him elsewhere for the second half of the campaign.

Would he be a good addition to Russell Martin’s squad though? We asked the FLW team for their thoughts.

It’s not quite happened for Quina at either Watford or Fulham in the last couple of years, but that needs perspective.

Watford is a hard club to settle at given their constant changes in the dugout, whilst they were also fighting at the sharp end of the Championship last season.

Fulham are doing the same this campaign and breaking into a very strong squad is a difficult task for anyone.

So, stepping down to mid-table level with Swansea could prove to be decent for Quina.

He will be offered opportunities to play in a side that looks to have a lot of possession, with Martin’s style of football looking like it would suit the 22-year-old.

Swansea are building towards something rather than playing in the here and now. That’s something that will also suit Quina at this stage of his career.

As I mentioned, he has felt a bit lost at the top of the Championship, so a more reserved project will fit.
