“A massive loss to Rammy” - shoppers 'gutted' as Chocolate Cafe announces closure

Ramsbottom residents and visitors alike have been left ‘gutted’ after the shock closure of a popular cafe. The Manchester Evening News reported yesterday that the postcard town’s Chocolate Cafe is closing after 15 years.

One customer, Helen Greaney, described the closure as ‘a massive loss to Rammy’, adding that she was ‘gutted’ to hear of the news.

Eric Gunder added: “Very sad news, especially for the people of Rammy.” Jen Knowles commented: “Many happy memories there. So very sad.”

Johnny Greaney wrote: “Devastating news. Such an integral part of the town and a fantastic place to eat and shop.” While Jennifer Garbett said: “We couldn’t get in a few weeks ago, it was too busy.”

The sweet-toothed cafe featured everything from bars of chocolate with edible prints laid over the top, chocolate bars loaded with crunchy toppings, chocolate pizzas, boxes of truffles and flavoured chocolate buttons. It also sold 'flat-pack' Easter eggs, available in a range of prints and flavours.

Sharing the heartbreaking news in a social media post, Philip said: "I've been avoiding writing this post, as it means the end and I've been unsure if I've had the strength
