A Love Actually concert with full orchestra is coming to Manchester - here's how to get tickets

A live concert version of cult Christmas film, Love Actually, has been announced today, and the UK tour includes a stop off in Manchester.

The much-loved rom-com, written and directed by Richard Curtis, hit cinemas in 2003, and now twenty years on, the hit film will come alive again, with a full orchestra performing its soundtrack live to screen. Love Actually in Concert has become an annual festive fixture for many and has sold out in previous years.

The 2023 tour will begin at Bath Forum, before heading across the country to Liverpool, Glasgow, Nottingham and many more before stopping off at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall on Friday, December 8. The tour's finale show will take place just before Christmas at London’s Eventim Apollo.

Written and directed by Richard Curtis and initially released in 2003, Love Actually follows ten different, yet all interweaving stories of love around the festive period. The romantic comedy was released in 2003 and features an ensemble cast of British film stars including Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley and Colin Firth.

The live concert version of the much-loved film has received rave reviews in the past, notably for "enhancing" the experience. The film's soundtrack also features a string of popular songs including including tracks from Maroon 5, The Calling, The Beach Boys, Joni Mitchell, Sugababes, and All You Need Is Love by Lynden David Hall.

A full, live orchestra will perform Craig Armstrong’s scores at each show, with the film being projected onto a large screen at each venue. Armstrong is one of the UK’s most recognised film composers, with his work being awarded a BAFTA for his Achievement
