But there's nothing serene on show here, as Scottish football's agenda-setting call-in stands on the brink of combustion with the beleaguered Belgian getting both barrels from a fanbase who no longer want him. Aberdeen and Celtic are already nine points ahead and Rangers fans don't see anyone back under Clement. The tide has turned and fans have plenty they want to get off their chest.

They are embarrassing to the Rangers fans who listen to them, talking about toenails, is this guy real? They could and should have been four down at half time, did he mention that? He should apply for a job at the pantomime, his fairytales would go down well with the kids, stop talking nonsense Philippe and trying to kid on the supporters."

How long can he carry on in this state of confusion? Watching him on TV, he looks tired, certainly it can happen when your under huge pressure, especially with everyone calling for his head. The board need to sit down with him to help end this non stop pressure with a golden four-year handshake, also the players have done nothing to help him but you can't sack all of them."
