Rob Downey named Cork hurling captain for 2025
Robert Downey has been appointed captain of the Cork hurlers for the 2025 season, with Shane Barrett named vice-captain.
Glen Rovers man Downey made his senior debut in 2019 and succeeds fellow defender Seán O'Donoghue, who skippered the Rebels for the past two seasons.
Downey is in contention to win an All-Star at centre-back at tonight's ceremony (Live on RTÉ One/Player), having taken over in the position when Ciarán Joyce suffered an injury early in the championship.
