'A great signing' Hull KR signing Sauaso 'Jesse' Sue tipped for success as player profiled

Until Willie Peters dropped the bombshell that Sauaso "Jesse" Sue would be joining Hull KR in 2023, not many expected the 14-time Samoan international to be on the Robins' radar.

Born in Auckland in 1992, Sue signed for Wests Tigers in 2011 and featured for their New South Wales Cup side before making his NRL debut in 2013, as Wests were defeated by St. George Illawarra Dragons 13-12.

After his breakout season with the Tigers, Sue was called up to the Samoan side for the 2013 World Cup and featured in all four games for Toa Samoa, and even bagged a try against PNG at Hull KR's Craven Park.

"He will be mate," replied Peters. "With Jesse Sue, we have a guy called George King who's a prop at Rovers who does a lot of work and never stops. Week in and week out, he puts his hand up. So Jesse will help him a lot."

With 116 appearances to his name during a six-year stint with the Wests Tigers, Sue joined Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs on a two-year deal and featured 26 times for the Doggies before joining Willie Peters at Newcastle Knights.

Since joining the Knights, he has made 27 appearances for the Novocastrians and in 2022 has featured in 12 games in the NRL and the NSW Cup.

Known for being one of the most respected hard-men and stalwarts in the NRL, Sue
