Stoke City have completed the signing of Brentford winger Tarique Fosu, as per an update from The Telegraph’s John Percy. 

The Potters have agreed a season-long loan deal with the Bees for the former Oxford United man down the pecking order at the Brentford Community Stadium.

The 26-year-old featured 39 times during Brentford’s promotion-winning 2020/21 season, chipping in with four goals and a further four assists. 

Picking up three points from their opening three matches, Stoke will be hoping to mount a push for the play-offs during the remainder of this campaign.

Barely featuring at all last season, Fosu needs a destination where more regular minutes will be afforded to him, and Stoke seems like a club that can do that. 

Fosu certainly adds creativity to the ranks at the Bet 365 Stadium, with it being unknown whether he would fit the bill as a wing-back or as a more advanced midfielder in Stoke’s current system. 

Possessing the versatility to shine in both roles, Fosu may not start initially, however, he has all the desirable traits at Championship level to suggest he can pave his way towards regular contention. 

This is an excellent addition at Stoke, and with Nick Powell currently out injured, Fosu will add much-needed positivity when in possession.
