'A good chance' - Graham Potter opens up on Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill's pathway at Brighton

Brighton boss Graham Potter says Levi Colwill is an "impressive" young man and there's a good chance he will play against Forest Green Rovers today (Wednesday).

The 19-year-old joined Albion from Chelsea on a season-long loan and just a few days after completing the move he made his club debut in a cameo display at Manchester United on August 7.

The centre-back was an unused substitute in the Seagulls' subsequent matches against Newcastle United and West Ham but he could be handed some game time for this Carabao Cup clash against the League One outfit.

In the two weeks or so Potter has worked with the defender, who had a superb loan spell at Huddersfield Town in the Championship last season, the 47-year-old has waxed lyrical about him and that shows no signs of stopping off the back of his work in training.

Despite joining the Sussex side later than most and not having a pre-season to get used to their playing style, Potter has suggested Colwill has hit the ground running. And he is likely to feature at the New Lawn Stadium in the upcoming encounter in some shape or form.

"He is fitting in really well, I am really happy with him. A very impressive young man, very mature for his age. He's respectful, he understands the situation that he is in, in terms of he has come in a little bit late in pre-season, the team is doing well," he said on Tuesday.

"So he is looking to support the players and the team. He is training well, is getting up to speed on what we are trying to do and he is doing it really well. We are delighted with him. He will be in the squad tomorrow and there's a good chance he will be on the pitch."
