A day out in Greater Manchester that offers something a bit different over the Easter holidays

Now that the Easter holidays are upon us many families will be looking for ways to keep the kids occupied. Going on Easter egg hunts, visiting petting farms and heading out on spring walks are just some of the things you can do with the family over the coming weeks.

Yet if you fancy something a bit different when it comes to keeping kids entertained, then we might just have the answer. Bridgewater Cruises are hosting special Easter Craft Cruises from March 29 to April 14, where adults can enjoy the scenic views along the Bridgewater Canal while little ones can get stuck in with some Easter fun.

The one-hour long cruises operate on their trip boat Lady Harriet, which can accommodate up to 12 people and has disabled access. The private boat trip departs from Boothstown Marina, then heads up past the RHS gardens up to Worsley village, where it turns around and returns to Boothstown.

A skipper is included, although you can have a go at steering if you want to. On board are a selection of Easter-themed craft activities for each child, as well as lots of decorations.

There’s an Easter egg for each child, as well as a drink and tea and coffee on board for adults. The boat has indoor and outdoor seating, and there’s full kitchen facilities with guests welcome to bring their own food and drink. The boat is fully central heated with onboard wi-fi and toilet and Baby changing facilities
