71 worldwide media outlets cover Rally Saudi Arabia across 129 countries
JEDDAH: Some 71 worldwide media outlets, including 128 journalists and 256 photographers, covered Rally Saudi Arabia’s inaugural appearance on the FIA World Rally Championship calendar, generating extensive international media coverage that reached more than 129 countries.
The wide media coverage also helped to showcase Saudi Arabia to millions of motorsport fans around the world, said a media statement from the Saudi Motorsport Company on Thursday.
Beyond the competition itself, Rally Saudi Arabia provided a platform to showcase the Kingdom’s diverse landscapes, distinctive terrain and natural environments, offering global audiences a broader perspective of Saudi Arabia while demonstrating its capability to host world-class sporting events, the statement said.
The event was also broadcast across 332 TV channels and streaming platforms, according to the statement, adding that it helped to bring the action to a wide international audience and generate an overall media reach of about 12.7 billion readers, viewers and followers.
That coverage extended across numerous international markets, with content produced in 14 languages, significantly widening the event’s global footprint and further strengthening Rally Saudi Arabia’s profile within the FIA World Rally Championship while reaching diverse audiences across broadcast, digital and print platforms.
Taken together, those figures point to the scale of the rally’s international profile and to Saudi Arabia’s growing role in attracting and hosting some of the world’s leading sporting events.
They also reinforce the Kingdom’s position as an increasingly important destination for global motorsport.
