Summer is round the corner and the kids and grandkids are anticipating all the fun that summer has in store for them, so what better time to embark on a family adventure to the fun-filled Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire.

Home to the National Tramway Museum, the popular day-trip destination has already welcomed more than 30,000 visitors through its gates since opening on March 12 for the 2022 season. Offering the chance to take a trip back to a bygone age, with vintage trams transporting families along traditional village streets into open countryside with breath-taking views of the Derwent Valley, kids and adults alike will be bowled over by the charm and beauty of Crich Tramway Village.

Set on the edge of the Peak District, Crich is around eight miles from Matlock and just few miles from the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site.Hosting plenty to explore, learn from and experience in and around the area, the tramway village is a tranquil yet stimulating place for a family day out.

Visitors are invited to explore the site, stroll their enchanted Woodland Walk and make the most of the sites many incredible events. For those who are keen to bring their four legged friends, dogs on a lead are welcome in most of the areas including a trip on the trams.

Marketing and business development manager, Amanda Blair said: “Whether you wish to come and enjoy the vintage tram rides, fascinating exhibitions and enchanting Woodland Walk & Sculpture Trail or experience one of our exciting events, we have something for all ages. Whilst the older generations will remember the trams when they ran in major cities prior to the 1960s, we also aim to educate the younger generations through exhibitions and creative activities.”
