3 things we clearly learnt about Sheffield Wednesday after their 3-2 win v Fleetwood

It was a crucial three points for Sheffield Wednesday last night as they overcame a 2-1 deficit to run out 3-2 winners over Fleetwood Town.

The Owls’ had taken an early lead in the match through Lee Gregory, but this was cancelled out by Fleetwood goals from Callum Camps and Joe Garner, which gave the Cod Army the half-time lead.

Deep into the second half, Wednesday were still struggling to get on level terms when Lee Gregory popped up with two goals in two minutes which ultimately proved to be enough to earn the Owls all three points.

Here are three things we learnt from the result that saw Wednesday climb up to fourth in the League One table.

One thing that we certainly learnt last night is that Lee Gregory continues to be an important player for Sheffield Wednesday.

His brace last night takes his League One tally to 12 goals now, and he has also laid on six assists for his teammates this campaign.

The timing of the goals last night were handy, too.

Having already got the Owls’ first goal, Gregory found a further two in consecutive minutes to take Wednesday from 2-1 down to 3-2 up.

Come the end of the season, those goals could be absolutely vital for the Owls.

Defeat to Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend was concerning given how well Darren Moore’s side had done lately.
