3 things we clearly learnt about Coventry City after their 1-0 win v Stoke

Coventry managed to seal a victory over fellow play-off challengers Stoke in midweek and are now back within four points of the top six.

The Sky Blues have been in and around the play-off places for the majority of the campaign so far and having overcome the Potters on Tuesday night, it shows that the club certainly means business this season.

It was Viktor Gyokeres who led his side to the three points, scoring in the 68th minute to ensure that it was the home team that sealed the victory.

After a solid showing from the club then, here are three things we learned about Coventry from the game.

1. Viktor Gyokeres may have fired blanks recently – but the talent is there to be seen.

The striker has bagged a total of ten goals so far this season, which is a fantastic return considering it is his first proper season in the Championship.

At just 23-years-old to boot, there is plenty of time for him to get even better and yet he is already ripping opposition defences apart. It isn’t just his goals that he contributes to Coventry either, as he completed more dribbles than anyone else on the pitch and is well capable of picking out a teammate after a darting run.

The forward then could be the real deal for a few seasons yet – and if he continues to get better and better as he develops with the Sky Blues, they may have their leading man up top for the next few years now.

2. Coventry can and will dominate games against big opposition, so don’t underestimate them.
