3 talking points | Mexican GP: Questions that need answering ahead of qualifying

Ahead of the third practice session and qualifying for tomorrow's Mexican Grand Prix, several questions have come up that need answering.

Among those are Max Verstappen's struggles with grip and Charles Leclerc spinning shenanigans. But more, can Sergio Perez give his home crowd something to cheer about and secure pole position and the race win?

Leclerc with work to do

Leclerc and his Ferrari team are left with work to do after a shunt ended his Friday running prematurely. In the first practice session, he was second quickest behind teammate Carlos Sainz, but in the second, he was seventh.

But the big talking point around his session was the crash at Turn 7. With his car loaded with fuel and a new set of Hard tyres fitted to his car, Leclerc set off to do long-run simulations in preparation for the race.

However, he spun out, with his car taking a heavy shunt and needing significant repairs. Yet, according to Leclerc, they (the Ferrari team) changed a small detail in the car setup, which altered the F1-75's behaviour, leading to the crash.

"We tried something on my car which I didn't particularly like, so I wasn't as much at ease with the car than I was in FP1, but I know what to do for [today], so [I'm] confident that the performance will be there," said Leclerc.

"I don't think any of [the damage] will compromise us. I think we have enough [parts] now with all the penalties we've had in the past, so it should be fine."

Verstappen must find pace

Red Bull's Verstappen didn't get as much running in as he would have liked, nor did he do what he set out to do.
