Fulham have had a brilliant season, with Marco Silva’s side on course to win promotion back to the Premier League as champions.

Whilst it has been a real team effort from the Cottagers, there’s no denying that Fabio Carvalho has been one of their standout performers over the course of the campaign.

Therefore, news that he will join Liverpool in the summer is a blow, even if it was expected due to his contract situation and the fact the Reds nearly signed him in January.

That has given Fulham time to look for a replacement and Telegraph reporter John Percy has revealed that they are chasing £7m-rated Shakhtar Donetsk man Manor Solomon.

And, here we outline THREE reasons why he would be a great signing for the Londoners as Carvalho’s replacement…

He brings goals and creativity

Firstly, and most importantly, he should be able to offer the same sort of productivity that Carvalho brings to the team.

Of course, it’s unfair to compare the two as Solomon will be linking up with a team that are in the top-flight, but his record in Ukraine offers encouragement.

After taking time to settle, the Israeli international has managed 13 league goals in his last 39 games, whilst he has also scored in the Champions League.

He has his best years in front of him

Like Carvalho, Solomon is a young player who should have his best years in front of him.

He will be 23-years-old by the time next season comes around, and even though that’s a few years older than Carvalho, he will be viewed as a long-term signing by the Cottagers if it happens.
