3 managers QPR must consider after major development confirmed

Queens Park Rangers will be under new management next season after it was confirmed that Mark Warburton will leave when his contract expires in the summer.

The former Glasgow Rangers boss was appointed as R’s boss in May 2019 and there’s no doubting that the club have progressed under his guidance.

However, the past few months have been particularly frustrating for QPR, as they dropped out of the promotion picture due to a disastrous run of form. Therefore, it was announced last night that Warburton would be departing in the summer when his deal expires.

The challenge for the QPR hierarchy will be to find a replacement ahead of next season and here we look at THREE managers they should consider…

Daniel Farke

This would be an ambitious move as there may be better options out there for the German coach.

But, he is out of work after leaving Krasnodar in Russia and the chance to get back in the game will appeal. From QPR’s perspective, he ticks all the boxes in that he has won promotion, plays stylish football and has worked on a budget in the past.

So, if they can convince Farke to join, it’s a no-brainer.

Carlos Carvalhal

Another slightly ambitious option, Carvalhal is to leave Braga in the summer and has made it clear that he would welcome a return to English football.

You wouldn’t expect a Premier League club to take a chance on the former Sheffield Wednesday chief, so he may have to look to the Championship.

His experience of English football and his tactical ability would make him a top choice for any second tier side, so QPR should move quickly if they think he could join.

Liam Manning

Alternatively, QPR could look at Liam Manning, who has excelled at MK Dons this season.
