2026 Commonwealth Games to air exclusively on CBC/Radio-Canada

Canadians looking to catch the 2026 Commonwealth Games will have a familiar home for all the action as CBC/Radio-Canada has secured the exclusive Canadian broadcasting and streaming rights for the event.

Fans can follow Team Canada's coverage on CBC TV, CBC Gem, and ICI TOU.TV, with live daily broadcasts kicking off with the opening ceremony. Digital and social updates will also run around the clock via CBC Sports and Radio-Canada Sports.

The Games run from July 23 to Aug. 2, bringing together athletes from 74 nations and territories across multiple sports.

“CBC/Radio-Canada is committed to following the journeys of Canada’s high performance athletes year-round, and with more than 148 athletes representing our country in nine sports, the Commonwealth Games is a great example of that,” said Chris Wilson, Executive Director, Sports and Olympics at CBC.

For Radio-Canada, the Games are seen as an important milestone for athletes early in their international careers.

“For many Canadian athletes, the Commonwealth Games represent their first time on the international stage and the next important step on their journey to the Olympic or Paralympic Games,” said Sophie Morasse, General Manager, Entertainment, Sports and TOU.TV.

Team Canada officials also pointed out the importance of national coverage in helping connect athletes with fans across the country.
