2024 Olympic qualifiers: NFF announces Super Falcons squad to play Cameroon

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the Super Falcons’ 21-player squad for the Paris 2024 third-round Olympic qualifiers against Cameroon.

The names of the invited players were announced on the Super Falcons X handle on Friday.

Top on the list of the invited players are Asisat Oshoala, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Rasheedat Ajibade, Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, Uchenna Kanu, Jennifer Echegini, Christy Ucheibe and Ashleigh Plumptre, who is making a return to the team after the 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup.

Also invited for the qualifiers are Tochukwu Oluehi, Halimatu Ayinde, Deborah Abiodun, Tosin Demehin, Omorinsola Babajide, Esther Okoronkwo, Ifeoma Onumonu, Toni Payne and Monday Gift.

The first leg against Cameroon will be played on Friday, 23 February 2024.

The Super Falcons will host the second leg which will come up on Monday, 26 February in Abuja.

The Super Falcons are targeting their first Olympic appearance since Beijing 2008.

The nine-time African champions were knocked out by Cameroon in the qualifiers for the London 2012 Olympic games.
