2024 MLB odds: Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge chasing triple crown

So far, Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge have both had seasons for the ages.

Up to this point in his inaugural campaign with the Dodgers, Ohtani has been worth every penny of his 10-year, $700 million contract. As of Aug. 25, he is second in the league in home runs (41), tied for fourth in the league in RBIs (94) and eighth in hits (148).

In addition, he recently became the sixth member of the 40/40 club.

At the start of the season, Ohtani opened up at +950 to win NL MVP — it probably had something to do with the fact that he's not pitching this season — but he's since surged up the oddsboard due to his dominance at the plate.

Now, Ohtani is a commanding -2300 favorite to win the award at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Remarkably, Judge might even be having a better season than Sho Time

As of Aug. 25, the Yankees slugger leads the league in home runs (51) and RBIs (122), and is second in the league in average (.333).

After blasting two more dingers on Sunday, Judge is on pace for 63 home runs, which would be his third season with more than 50 homers, a feat only achieved by Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and Alex Rodriguez.

It would also break his previous AL record of 62.

Judge was the -3000 favorite to win AL MVP at FanDuel as of Aug. 25 morning. After hitting homers No. 50 and 51, AL MVP odds were taken down at FanDuel.

Ohtani and Judge's performances have been so impressive that DraftKings Sportsbook has posted odds for "Ohtani vs. the field" and "Judge vs. the field" for MVP in the NL and AL, respectively.

Let's take a look at the odds as of Aug. 25.
