2022 CSR Report: Key steps highlighted as EWC promoter Discovery Sports Events marks IDSPD
The FIM Endurance World Championship from Discovery Sports Events (DSE) is marking International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSPD) by highlighting some of the key steps that were taken in 2022 as part of DSE’s commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. Developed with the support of two reputed environmental consulting firms (Utopies & Ipama Consulting), the strategy is a long-term road map based on three important pillars of action.
Ad 1: By promoting sustainable and regenerative events and reducing and eliminating the impact of logistics and transportation, DSE is enabling environmental and carbon emission reduction across all its promoted championships. 3: Finally, by promoting a lifetime balance, guaranteeing safety onsite and opening the doors to a diverse and inclusive culture, DSE is aiming to make every employee an ambassador for transition towards sustainability and inclusion. During the 2022 FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC), which took place over four weekends between April and September 2022, DSE implemented the following CSR actions: *Carbon footprint calculation (showed the EWC’s carbon footprint measured 18 933 TCO2e).
Fan attendance, event travel and freight movement were the largest contributors. Half of those emissions were due to business travel.
