2 words that sum up AFC Bournemouth’s January transfer window and why

If you’re a Bournemouth fan, you could be forgiven for both wanting a breather but also wanting to get stuck into the nitty gritty of EFL games again right now.

That’s because the Cherries have had an extremely busy transfer window and an even busier last 24 hours, as deals were completed and players aplenty walked through the door at the Vitality Stadium. By the time the window had slammed shut, Scott Parker had completed deals for FIVE different players over the course of the day.

If you look at the faces that he brought in, you can’t complain if you are a Bournemouth fan either. From the reliable Freddie Woodman to the exciting talent of Todd Cantwell and the goalscoring ability of Kieffer Moore, it really was incredible to see it unfold for Bournemouth.

So how can you describe their transfer window in just two words? There are plenty that spring to mind – but here is my two.

Active

You can’t argue with this first one. The Cherries were certainly extremely busy, especially towards the back end of the window, and they kept everyone entertained with their signings – even the neutrals.

As name after name came in yesterday, it was hard to believe the club could fund and lure all of these exciting players to the Vitality Stadium. Hats off to them though in terms of identifying areas of need, looking at the players they wanted and then bringing them all to the club. They’ve added to pretty much every area of the field, from goal to attack and it should certainly help them out both this year and beyond.

Bournemouth certainly couldn’t have done much more than they did in January – but there will certainly be expectations that come with such activity in the market.

Successful

You’d have to say it would be a successful window
