Sheffield United will be looking to secure an immediate return to the Premier League later this year under the guidance of manager Paul Heckingbottom.

The Blades have emerged as legitimate contenders for a top-six finish in the second-tier since opting to replace Slavisa Jokanovic with Heckingbottom as they are currently just one point adrift of the play-off places.

Regardless of whether the club are able to seal promotion in May, there are expected to be some outgoings from Bramall Lane in the upcoming transfer window.

Oliver Burke

After only making six appearances for the Blades during the first-half of the 2021/22 campaign, Oliver Burke was loaned out to Millwall in January.

The forward featured in six consecutive league games for the Lions before suffering a hamstring injury last month.

Whereas it remains to be seen whether Millwall will be willing to sign Burke on a permanent deal, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if he calls time on his stint with the Blades.

When you consider that Burke has only scored two goals in 36 games for United, it could be argued that he may need to make a fresh start with another club this summer in order to revive his career.

Sander Berge

Another individual who may be looking to move on to pastures new in the summer is Sander Berge.

The Norway international was heavily linked with a switch to Napoli last year but opted to stay with the Blades.

Since making this particular call, Berge has shown some real signs of promise in the 20 appearances that he has made for his side in all competitions this season.
