£16.2m Rangers youngster 'talented' and 'has something about him'

Manchester United star Amad Diallo is talented but is not ready for Rangers‘ first team, claims journalist Chris Jack.

The 19-year-old arrived at Ibrox from Old Trafford on loan in the January transfer window but has struggled since making the temporary switch.

Diallo was getting minutes at first following his loan move, making appearances against Ross County and Celtic.

The £16.2m-rated winger even scored on his debut away at the former as Rangers went on to draw 3-3 that day. However, he was unable to replicate that display in the disappointing 3-0 loss at Celtic Park and was subsequently subbed off at half-time.

Since then, Diallo’s game time has significantly decreased, with the Ivorian playing just 17 minutes versus Dundee United and not featuring at all against Hibernian and Motherwell before picking up an injury.

That injury has now seen him miss a trip away to St Johnstone and the visit of Aberdeen, so he really has not had a lot of action since joining the club.

For Jack, Diallo’s talent is there to see. However, The Herald and Glasgow Times journalist is still not convinced that the Ivory Coast international is ready for Rangers’ first team based on what he has seen.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jack said: “He’s clearly a talented kid; he’s got something about him. He’s got a bit of potential, but he’s not a first-team ready player.”

As things stand, it is hard to imagine Rangers trying to extend Diallo’s loan deal. The move so far has not worked out for any of the parties involved.
