£108m duo could be among six Manchester United exits in January transfer window
A little over three weeks now stand between Manchester United and the start of the January transfer window.
In January last season, United drafted in three mid-season signings, landing Jack Butland, Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst, all of whom checked in on loan. The Old Trafford outfit didn't make a single signing in January 2021.
The Reds have rarely been a club to loosen the purse strings mid-season, often committing to big-money deals in the summer window instead. The January market is a notoriously difficult one to navigate, and clubs can easily end up paying over the odds for players.

Such is the way this season is developing at Old Trafford, though, United may be forced to dive into the market next month to strengthen their squad and give them a much-needed boost ahead of the second half of the campaign. That, however, will depend on the level of finances available, and if Sir Jim Ratcliffe has received the green light from the Premier League to start spending.
Though new signings, as is always the case at any club, are what set the pulses of supporters racing in transfer windows, exits could be just as important in M16 next month. United have players within the first-team squad that need offloading and a handful of youngsters within the youth ranks that would benefit from being granted a spell out on loan.
With that said MEN Sport has picked out six United that the club should aim to try and source moves for in the January window.
