However, the replays showed that the ball should have crashed into the leg stump and the review would have been successful. Legendary England cricketer Geoffrey Boycott was left deeply disappointed by the performance of Ben Stokes and Co in the second Ashes Test against Australia at the Lord's. England lost their last six wickets for under 50 runs to hand Australia a massive advantage in the match and Boycott's expression during the game has gone viral. In a video posted on social media, the England great can be seen burying his face in his hands during the England innings. Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra continued his tremendous form as he came back from a one-month injury lay-off to clinch the top spot in the Lausanne leg of the Diamond League, his second straight win of the season in the prestigious one-day meeting series, on Friday. The 25-year-old Chopra had skipped three top events due to a muscle strain he sustained while training last month but came back with a bang as he won the Diamond League title here with his fifth-round throw of 87.66m. He began with a foul and then had 83.52m and 85.04m throws. He had another foul in the fourth round before coming up with his winning throw of 87.66m next. His sixth and last throw was 84.15m.
The wait is over! The 2023 Tour de France kicks off on Saturday and the roads of Bilbao look set to serve up a treat on Stage 1. There’s no prologue or rudimentary bunch sprint for the first day of this Tour. Instead, a hilly opener to and from Bilbao features 3,300m of vertical gain and includes the spiky Pike Bidea climb 10km from the finish, with an average gradient of 10% over 2km.
