Shivam Dube and Arshdeep Singh were dismissed by Charith Asalanka off consecutive deliveries with India just one run away from victory as the first ODI encounter against Sri Lanka ended in a tie on Friday. Chasing a target of 231, India looked all set to clinch the victory with 1 run to win from 15 balls. On the third ball of the 48th over, Dube slammed Asalanka for a boundary and it prompted a huge celebration from Virat Kohli and head coach Gautam Gambhir in the dressing room. However, things quickly changed as Dube was dismissed LBW on the very next ball and India had just one wicket remaining.
India captain Rohit Sharma and his reactions during a match are simply unmissable. The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo was no exception. A hilarious incident took place during Sri Lanka's batting that was concluded with Rohit's funny response. Dunith Wellalage defended a yorker delivery of Washington Sundar on the fifth ball of the 29th over. India appealed for an LBW but none of the players seemed confident. Umpire was also unconvinced.
American athlete Simone Biles reclaimed the all-around Gymanstics title at the ongoing Paris Olympics on Friday. The 27-year-old, who won also won the gold in the same event at Rio Olympics 2026, made another piece of history, becoming first woman to regain the Olympic all-around title. Her compatriot, Sunisa Lee, who won the title back in Tokyo three years back after Biles pulled out of the event, could only claim a bronze as Brazil's Rebeca Andrade claimed silver.
Lakshya Sen vs Chou Tien-chen Quarter-Finals Men's Singles Live Streaming: Lakshya Sen is set to square off against Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien-chen in badminton men's quarter-final match at Paris Olympics 2024 on Friday. Earlier on Thursday, Sen entered the quarter-finals after defeating his compatriot HS Prannoy 21-12, 21-6 in the Round of 16 match. He is now the third Indian badminton men's player after Parupalli Kashyap and Kidambi Srikanth to reach the Olympic quarterfinals. Currently ranked 22, Sen will face 12th seed Tien Chen in the quarterfinals.
