American athlete Simone Biles reclaimed the all-around Gymanstics title at the ongoing Paris Olympics on Friday. The 27-year-old, who won also won the gold in the same event at Rio Olympics 2026, made another piece of history, becoming first woman to regain the Olympic all-around title. Her compatriot, Sunisa Lee, who won the title back in Tokyo three years back after Biles pulled out of the event, could only claim a bronze as Brazil's Rebeca Andrade claimed silver.
Manchester United will be hoping to bring their pre-season tour of the United States to a close with a win when they face Liverpool at the Williams-Brice Stadium, kick-off 12.45am BST.
The Chicago Bears and Houston Texans will face off in the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 1, and it will be televised on ESPN, ABC, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes.
The Algerian boxer embroiled in a major gender controversy guaranteed herself at least bronze at the Paris Olympics on Saturday, bursting into tears after winning her quarter-final. Imane Khelif, who has found herself in the eye of a global storm along with another boxer from Taiwan, beat Hungary's Anna Luca Hamori with a unanimous points decision to reach the semi-finals of the women's 66kg category. The duo embraced at the end, before the judges' verdict was delivered, and an animated Khelif left the ring in tears.

Manchester United face Liverpool in a pre-season friendly for the fourth time in the last decade this weekend.
Chinese duo Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong won the badminton mixed doubles gold medal at the Paris Olympics after beating South Korea's Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-eun in the final on Friday. Zheng and Huang, silver medalists at the Tokyo Olympics, won the gold medal match 21-8, 21-11. While it must be the only big moment of the day for Siwei, but not for Yaqiong, who was proposed by her boyfriend and Chinese men's doubles player Liu Yuchen, right in front of the entire crowd. The video of the heartwarming moment is going viral on social media.
