The Olympic flame for the 2024 Paris Games will pass through 64 departments — including five overseas — and 400 towns over 68 days before the cauldron is lit.

The Olympic flame will arrive in Marseille on May 8 before a torch relay takes it around the country on its way to Paris ahead of the start of the 2024 Olympic Games in July. As is tradition, the torch will be lit at the birthplace of the ancient Games in Olympia, Greece, before taking a nine-day tour of the country which ends at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.
