World champion sprinter and three-time Olympic medallist Tori Bowie passed away as a result of childbirth complications, according to an autopsy report. Bowie's death was reported in May after she was found in her Florida home by local police who conducted a welfare check. Ad Concerned individuals had reported that a woman in her early 30s, later identified as Bowie, had been out of contact and sight for several days.

Jonas Vingegaard warned his rivals he can get even better after continuing his Tour de France preparations by winning the Criterium du Dauphine in commanding fashion. The Jumbo-Visma rider finished two minutes and 23 seconds ahead of Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates) – the biggest winning margin at the race since 1993. Ad Vingegaard won two stages and on the last stage dropped Yates and the rest of the favourites on a steep finish.
