A Tottenham Hotspur supporter was banned from attending football games for three years on Tuesday after making gestures mocking the Hillsborough tragedy during a Premier League match in April. Kieron Darlow, 25, made the gestures at the Liverpool v Tottenham game at Anfield on 30 April, the UK's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said, where his actions were reported to the police and he was identified and arrested.
Former England prop Paul Rendall dies after battle with motor neurone disease
Former England prop Paul Rendall has died aged 69 following a battle with motor neurone disease. Rendall won 28 caps in a Test career lasting from 1984 to 1991, playing his final game in a World Cup pool match against Italy, after which he was struck down by an Achilles injury.

Jon Rahm admitted there is a sense of betrayal among the PGA Tour membership in the wake of the merger with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Rahm said he was at home making breakfast for his kids and wife Kelley on 6 June when text messages started flowing about a planned merger. "I thought my phone was going to catch on fire at one point," Rahm recalled ahead of this week's U.S. Open. "There were so many questions that I just couldn't answer. "At one point, I told Kelley I'm just going to throw my phone in the drawer and not look at it for the next four hours because I can't deal with this anymore." Rahm still doesn't have any more answers a week later.
PGA Tour confident of reassuring US Congress over LIV deal
The PGA Tour is confident it will be able to assure Congress it controls the shock new venture with Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund after a United States Senator opened an investigation into the deal. The PGA announced a week ago a plan to combine its commercial business with those of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), which includes the LIV Golf series that the PGA had previously been in open dispute with.
