Shericka Jackson produced the second fastest women's 200m time in history to destroy a top-class field and retain her world title in Budapest on Friday. The 29-year-old Jamaican's victory was never in doubt as she ran a superb bend to enter the straight with a clear lead and finished in a stunning 21.41sec. USA's Olympic bronze medallist Gabby Thomas took silver in 21.81sec while her compatriot Sha'Carri Richardson ran a personal best of 21.92sec to add a bronze medal to the gold she impressively won in the 100m.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag predicted that current Team India skipper Rohit Sharma will finish ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 as the leading run-getter. India will meet Australia to begin their Cricket World Cup campaign in Chennai on October 8. Sehwag highlighted that openers will have many opportunities to shine during the next ODI World Cup because of the batting-friendly circumstances in India. In a video posted to the ICC's Instagram account, Sehwag was asked to guess who would score the most runs at the 2023 World Cup.
The second ODI between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Thursday had a controversial moment when, with Pakistan needing 11 off six balls, the latter's bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi of Afghanistan showed extreme game awareness and ran out Shadab Khan at the non-striker's end. Shadab Khan, who was running amok scoring 48 off 35 balls, was backing up too far on the first ball of the last over. Farooqi while bowling the first delivery ran him out. Though, Afghanistan started celebrating, Shadab waited. The TV umpire agrees though agreed that it was indeed a run out. However, few balls later, Naseem Shah took Pakistan home.
