South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje was on Wednesday ruled out of the Champions Trophy due to a back injury. Nortje, who has not played international cricket since the T20 World Cup final in June last year, was named in the Champions Trophy squad earlier this week but scans on Monday made it clear that he is not going to be fit in time for the ICC event beginning February 19 in Pakistan. "Pretoria Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the remainder of the Betway SA20 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a back injury," said Cricket South Africa in a statement.

The drafts for the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) were made on Monday in Lahore with many big names getting picked by the franchises. After going unsold in the Indian Premier League 2025 auction, the likes of David Warner and Kane Williamson were also roped in for Pakistan's T20 league. However, a big shock came after sensational Pakistan pacer Ihsanullah was not picked by any team in the PSL draft. Resulting this, the right-arm pacer announced his retirement from the PSL.

Tickets For Champions Trophy Matches In Pakistan As Low As INR 310, Prices In Dubai Higher: Report

The PCB has earmarked the starting prices for Champions Trophy tickets at PKR 1000 which is as cheap as Rs 310 in Indian currency, as per an internal document of the cricket board in possession of PTI. The document, however, does not include suggested ticket prices for the matches in Dubai chosen as a neutral venue to host India's matches and perhaps even a semi-final and final if Rohit Sharma's men qualified for these knockout games. The list in possession of PTI revealed that PCB has kept the lowest priced ticket for the General Enclosure at 1000 Pakistani rupees for all matches in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram on Tuesday unveiled the iconic 'white jackets' -- a badge of honour adorned by champions -- for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held from February 19. The 50-over tournament will be played in Pakistan and the UAE. With just over a month left for the tournament, the ICC paid tribute to the 'white jackets' with a promo video featuring Akram, who asks fans across the globe to join the "journey of the champions". The tournament will witness the top eight teams battle it out in 15 matches across 19 days in an intense and all-out showdown from February 19 to March 9.

The cricket veteran got involved in a shoulder-barge with Australia teenager Sam Konstas during India's fourth Test in Melbourne in December 2024. Kohli was fined 20 per cent of his match fee by the International Cricket Council for the act. A similar incident took place during the Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 on Sunday. It was Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who did a Kohli by barging shoulders with Pakistan's Mohammad Nawaz.

PCB Frustrated As English Cricketers Await ECB Decision On PSL Participation

English cricketers are seeking clarity from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) regarding the issuance of No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) after being picked to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) during Monday's draft in Lahore. Tom Kohler-Cadmore (Peshawar Zalmi), Sam Billings, and Tom Curran (both Lahore Qalandars) were among those signed in the draft, while James Vince (Karachi Kings), Chris Jordan, and David Willey (Multan Sultans) were already retained. The 2025 PSL has shifted to an April-May schedule, creating a direct conflict with the start of the English domestic season for the first time.
