Retired Italian MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, who has switched from two wheels to four, will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) next season, according to the list of participants published on Monday. The seven-time MotoGP world champion, will race with the Belgian WRT team, driving one of 18 cars entered in the LMGT3 class, which replaces the LMGTE Am category.
Honda announced on Monday it had signed Italian Luca Marini, the half-brother of MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, to a two-year deal with its factory team. Marini, 26, will take over from Marc Marquez, the six-time world champion who is leaving Honda a year early to join his brother at Ducati satellite team Gresini Racing. After making his MotoGP debut in 2021, Marini earned his first two podium finishes this season -- in the United States and Qatar -- as he came eighth overall riding for VR46, the Ducati satellite team owned by Rossi. He also finished in the top three in four sprint races and twice took pole position. Marini will get a first outing on his new Japanese bike at the post-season tests in Valencia on Tuesday. He will pair up at Honda with 2020 world champion Joan Mir, who endured a disastrous past season in which he finished 22nd after scoring only 26 points. Honda finished bottom of the constructors' standings this season, just as they did in 2022.

Advani defeated Kothari 1000–416 in a rematch of last year's title clash in Kuala Lumpur. He had won his first world title in this competition way back in 2005. While Advani has won the 'long format' for the ninth time, he triumphed in the 'point format' championship on eight occasions, besides winning the World Team Billiards Championship once. In this tournament, Advani defeated fellow Indian cueist Rupesh Shah 900-273 in the semi-finals. It saw breaks of 259 and 176 from the defending champion, while Shah managed a 62 break only in the 900-up format.

Top shooter Mehuli Ghosh of West Bengal clinched a gold in the women's 10m air rifle event in an impressive show even as Maharashtra crossed the double century medal mark to consolidate its top position in the National Games on Tuesday. Mehuli, one of the 13 shooters who have so far bagged 2024 Paris Olympics quota place for India, shot an impressive 253.7 to take the top spot. Haryana's Nancy Mandhotra (251.0) won the silver while Swati Chowdhury of West Bengal won the bronze. Mehuli and Nancy had qualified 1-2 for the finals. Punjab's Rajeshwari Kumari shot a perfect 50 in two rounds to lead the women's trap event while Gujarat's Bakhtyaruddin Malek was leading the men's event with a score of 49 after the completion of two rounds at the Pernem Shooting Range.
