Formula E has raised fresh concerns over its race in Hyderabad, saying it might not be able to go ahead with the round scheduled for February 10 following the latest communique from the new Telangana government. The inaugural electric race in the country was held in February this year with then IT Minister KT Rama Rao playing a huge role in bringing the race to the city. However, KTR's BRS party lost the state election to Congress in December.

The Yves-du-Manoir stadium, in the northwestern Paris suburb of Colombes, became on Monday the first sporting venue to be formally handed over by developers to local authorities ahead of the Games. It will host the competitions in field hockey, a sport which may not be the number one activity in France but has a huge following in northern Europe and Asia, in particular India.

"During our time, para was a separate entity and they would not get equal recognition. But now they are receiving an equal platform as abled-bodies athletes. The competition and support are at par and especially in these Games, entire India is getting a chance and all the kids are so elated to get an opportunity to compete," said 2003 World Athletics Championship long jump bronze winner Anju.
