Indian football skipper Sunil Chhetri anticipated the day when the 'Blue Tigers' will take part in the FIFA World Cup and expressed hope that this moment will arrive soon. In an interview with FIFA, Chhetri said that the country would go mad when India qualifies for the FIFA World Cup. "The day that happens, the country will go mad. As an Indian, it's going to be one of the best days of my life. There are so many people like me who can't wait to see that day, and I just hope it comes soon for us," Chhetri said as quoted by ISL's official website. He further added that it will be humongous when the 'Blue Tigers' achieve the feat. Chhetri also said that he will never forget that moment in his life.
In a heart-warming gesture, Afghanistan's opening batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz was spotted helping the needy people on the side of the street in Ahmedabad at 3 am. The video of Gurbaz went viral on social media with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) -- the team he plays for in the Indian Premier League -- also sharing the clip. The Afghanistan star could be seen giving money to the needy people, who were sleeping on the side of the street. "From working tirelessly to raise money for the victims of the Herat Earthquake in Afghanistan earlier this month, to this act of kindness in a foreign land - you inspire us all. God bless you, jaani," wrote KKR while sharing the video.
He might have reversed his ODI retirement decision to play the World Cup but England Test captain Ben Stokes would like to "think hard" about his future in 50-over format after his impending knee surgery. The England Test captain will undergo a surgery to fix his dodgy left knee later this month as he would be running against time to be fit for a busy calendar ahead beginning with the five-match series in India slated from January 25 in Hyderabad. "I'm Test captain, got a lot of stuff coming up," Stokes told Sky Sports on whether he would like to remain in England's scheme of things for their ODI team reboot.
