YANQING: Germany extended their domination of the luge track in Beijing on Wednesday (Feb 9) as Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt won the men's doubles title for the third straight Winter Games.
Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt have defended their mixed doubles luge gold to make it three titles in a row. After taking victory at PyeongChang 2018 and Sochi 2014, they proved the best once again in Beijing.

Ski jumping director Horst Huttel says Katharina Althaus 'would never cheat' and has lambasted the International Ski Federation for an 'inconsistent' application of the rules in the mixed team event. Defending world champions Germany failed to qualify for the mixed team final after Althaus was disqualified due to a suit violation, while Japan, Austria and Norway each had jumpers disqualified in the final for the same reason.
