BCCI Looking For Window To Organise Women's Indian Premier League: Report

After a highly successful 15th season of men's Indian Premier League (IPL), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking for a window to organise the event for women cricketers as well. According to a BCCI source, when the IPL 2022 was going on, BCCI officials had a discussion with stakeholders regarding Women's IPL. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah have made it clear that a full-fledged women's IPL will take place featuring six teams.

Mumbai Indians finished bottom of the IPL points table after with just four wins to show in the 14 matches they played in IPL 2022. He suggested that cricket go the football way, where club competitions are more prevalent and international matches largely played in big tournaments like the World Cup.
